Norwegian Artists in Bangkok

The art exhibition Norwegian Artists in Bangkok is presented jointly by Thavibu Gallery and the Norwegian Embassy in Thailand, on 18 June - 10 July, 2005 at Thavibu Gallery, Bangkok.  The exhibition is structured to coincide with the centennial celebration of diplomatic relations between the kingdoms of Thailand and Norway.  Kjell Pahr-Iversen was born in 1937 and pursued art studies in Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands and Britain.  He has worked with many kinds of media, starting with prints and moved on to paintings.  He continually strives at searching for order in his cosmos of light, forms and colours.  Alfred Vaagsvold was born in 1946 and has in his career covered a variety of art media and expressions such as paintings, illustrations, sculptures, installations and performances.  In his latest works, the focus is on light and colours in an abstract way. Berit Marie Friestad was born in 1949 and has exhibited extensively in Norway including several times at the yearly national exhibition. Her works are often painted with bright colours and simple forms, though they carry a lot of depth and are often open to interpretations.
