Thai Artists | Angkana Kongpetch

Angkana Kongpetch was born in 1982 and is currently a Master student at Silapakorn University.  In the second part of the two-part exhibition with Pieng-or Pinpart - Angkana focuses upon the human form to examine Buddhist notions of time and mortality. Looking at the cycle of life from birth to death, Angkana’s delicate wiry skeletal forms explore the transitory nature of existence and how we become disabled by the possessions and relationships we continuously accumulate. Her veinal torsos indicate human frailty as well as the need for accountability in the decisions and actions we take throughout our brief time on this planet. Body Language (II) is the fourth exhibition in the year-long project, 3D@Thavibu, highlighting three-dimensional art in Suite 307 of Thavibu Gallery. It is curated by Steven Pettifor.
