Jakraphun Thanateeranon was born in Tak in 1977 and studied at the Faculty of Fine and Applied Art at Chulalongkorn University.  He is an artist who continuously strives to meet new challenges and explore new means of expression. He is active in the contemporary art scene in areas of photography, installation art and performance art. Jakraphun has staged several shows, which significantly contributed to broaden the scope of contemporary Thai art. His works have been recognized internationally. He was awarded a scholarship by UNESCO, which enabled him to participate in the Artist in Residence Programme in Vienna Austria, September-December 1999.  In 2001, he was invited to participate in several international events in Germany, Korea and Singapore as a representative from Thailand.
