Khin Maung Zaw    

 

 

     

 

Khin Maung Zaw was born in 1970 in Myeik and studied under several masters, including U Lun Gywe.  He started painting in 1988 and graduated from the State School of Fine Arts in 1991 in painting, and in 1994 from the same institution in sculpture.  He is a full time artist who sometimes paint with oil or pastel, though his watercolours with its bright, vibrant colours truly capture the beauty of Burmese religious life.  He has regular shows in Rangoon and has also exhibited in Singapore (1995, 1997, 1998, 1999).
