Artist: Myint Swe Title: The World Upside-Down
Year: 1998 Technique: Oil on canvas
Size: 60 x 90 cm Collection of the National Art Gallery, Malaysia
Note: The world is not fair. In this world, man and animals live together. But man is not just towards the animals: he makes them work, treats them cruelly, tortures them, kills and eats them, etc. Although there are rules and restrictions, man doesn't care. If you take the place of the animal, you'll see and come to know more about life. The rich tread upon the poor, the educated oppresses the uneducated, people with power suppress those without power, and so on. But in this world, TRUTH will prevail. The Law of Nature is: 'What begins must end'.
