Kanha Sikounnavong was born in 1957 in Vientiane, Laos and studied art in Laos and Bulgaria. He has worked at the Ministry of Information and Culture in Laos and at the same time practiced as an artist and art researcher. In addition to participating in exhibitions in Laos, he has also taken part in shows in Australia (1993), Bangladesh (1993, 1998), Japan (1994, 1998), Netherlands (1995), Singapore (1997), Vietnam (1997), and China (1999).
