Praphan Rakarin was born in 1980 and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor degree in arts from Sripatum University in Bangkok and proceeded with further studies at the Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design in London.  He spent the years 2004-07 in London, and his stay included local gallery shows.  His painting series from London are mixed media works where he blends oil, acrylic, Indian ink and shellac to create an effect of a somewhat rather dark and stormy atmosphere.  Perhaps due to the infamously rainy and foggy weather he experienced in London or maybe more as a metaphor of his own feelings - away from home in sunny and tropical Thailand.
